Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza has been one of the highest-selling subcompact SUV for four years since its advent in the Indian market. The Vitara Brezza diesel on the road price is Rs.8,70,810.
To give a sporty edge to the classic Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki has launched a Sports Limited Edition of the car at a premium of Rs. 29,990 over the classic model for all variants.
The unique selling point of the newly launched limited edition is its style quotient and cosmetics which includes additional features like leather cover for the steering wheel, wheel arch kit, neck cushion, body graphics, side-skid plate, chrome front grille garnish, designer mats, slide cladding, and seat covers with yellow muscle finishing. The Vitara Brezza car price in India 2019 is Rs. 7.67 lakh and goes as high as 10.64 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki dominated the market with a share of 44 per cent in the year 2018-19 with over 1,57,880 units of Vitara Brezza sold.
This upgraded limited sports edition model of the Vitara Brezzza has BS6 compliant powertrain. The new model will have a 1.2-litre k12 petrol engine, doing away with the former 1.3 litres DDiS 200 diesel engine that the old model boasted. Maruti Suzuki has decided to discontinue its diesel technology but plans on introducing its in-house creation of 1.5 litres DDiS 225 diesel model, in case of substantial demand despite a higher price.
Vitara Brezza’s long-time competitors like the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Venue have petrol engines by default or available on demand. Vitara Brezza’s newly launched sports edition will have petrol as well as a diesel model, which is likely to expand Brezza’s already soaring popularity.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has a displacement of 1248cc. It comes with an automatic transmission and a mileage of 24.3 Kmpl. While the new sports edition comes with a plethora of variants for customers to choose from, the newly launched Hyundai Venue staring at Rs. 6.5 lakh which has increased the pressure on its competitors in the SUV segment to come up with updated models offering a unique set of features. Suzuki, hence, is not the sole launcher of a sporty model of their classic SUV, with Ford’s launch of the Thunder edition of Ecosport. This model, akin to Brezza’s sports model, will have variants and powertrains to choose from.
The Vitara Brezza car price in India is lesser than its competitors in the same segment. Although, Venue offers a larger variety of engine options as compared to Brezza 1.3 liter diesel engine. Both cars churn the same amount of power but Venue leads the game with an additional 20Nm torque.
If a two-pedal setup and diesel engine suit your palate, Vitara Brezza’s Sports Edition is the car for you, with its AMT gearbox as its competitors have only been able to bring a 6-speed manual to the table for now. Additionally, while diesel models are set to be discontinued by Suzuki, Hyundai will have oil burners with software and mechanical upgrades to comply with contemporary emission regulations.
